Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations helps organizations to build and sustain their volunteer programs and services through resources, networking, and skill development opportunities. We are a member-based nonprofit organization serving the nonprofit and charitable organizations in the Alberta Capital Region. Cedar Community’s 400+ volunteers are inspirational and vital to the mission of Cedar Community. Adults, families, teens, church groups, school groups, and others age 13 and up can find meaningful and fulfilling ways to share their time and talents with the older adults who live at Cedar Community in West Bend and at Elkhart Lake.

Whether you wish to volunteer for an hour or a day, once a year, once a month, or once a week, we can help you find the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our residents.

Caring volunteers willing to make a commitment to visit the elderly in an aged care facility or at home are required by the Community Visitors Scheme Casino. Applicants must be over 18 years old and able to visit once a fortnight. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life and your own. Would you like to make someone's day? • Resident game leaders, readers, visitors
• Gardening and landscape assistance
• Musical, dance, theatrical, educational, or artistic program providers
• Companion assistance for outings to Brewers games, the zoo, concerts, bowling, nature center, restaurants, county fair, and other destinations
• Resident cookie and popcorn sale assistance
• Help transporting residents to theatre or rehabilitation within building
• Clerical help

2. Sycuan Casino has the largest teams in the Susan G. Komen San Diego R.e for the Cure, WALK MS and American Cancer Society Relay for Life El Cajon events with Sycuan Casino Team Members dedicating over 1,500 walking hours to support these local charity chapters.
